Legacy Since 1998
The Atreides professional legacy dates to 1998, when the network was founded in Italy by senior officers of the Arma dei Carabinieri.
That origin still shapes how the organisation works. The Carabinieri tradition is institutional rather than commercial: it assumes that judgement is accountable, that discretion is a professional obligation rather than a marketing claim, and that an assessment is only as good as the sourcing behind it.

02Origins
Italian Roots, International Network
What began as an Italian professional network built on that service has become an international intelligence, security and strategic-advisory organisation.
From its Italian roots, Atreides has developed an international network across Western Europe, the Mediterranean and MENA, drawing on specialists with established regional expertise and long-standing professional relationships.
Method
Intelligence Before Action
Atreides is intelligence-led rather than manpower-led.
Assessment precedes recommendation, and recommendation precedes action. In practice this means the organisation will often advise that a smaller intervention is sufficient, or that a proposed course is not viable — conclusions that a manpower-driven security business has little incentive to reach.
Analytical work is sourced, graded for confidence, and presented with fact separated from assessment. Where evidence does not support a conclusion, the assessment says so.
04Strategic Geography
Western Europe to North Africa
Atreides operates along an axis running from Western Europe through Italy and the Mediterranean to the Middle East and North Africa.
This is a deliberate concentration rather than a claim to global coverage. Depth along that axis — language, institutional familiarity, established relationships — is more useful to clients than thin presence everywhere.
The organisation works across six capability areas: intelligence and investigations; security advisory and training; anti-fraud and asset recovery; travel security and protective support; wealth protection and protective intelligence; and PSYOPs, hybrid threats and special operations.

The Atreides Intelligence Unit is the organisation's analytical structure, publishing Commentaries, Briefings and Reports, and supporting client work with geopolitical, hybrid-threat and regional assessment.

Atreides is a network of identifiable senior professionals rather than an anonymous corporate entity: leadership drawn from Carabinieri service, scientific advisers supporting the Intelligence Unit, and specialist consultants across the international network.
