PSYOPs, Hybrid Threats & Special Operations

Information-environment and cognitive-threat analysis, hostile influence and FIMI monitoring, counter-disinformation and hybrid-threat assessment.

Hostile activity increasingly takes place below the threshold of open conflict: in the information environment, against reputation, through proxies and intermediaries, and in the space where commercial, political and security interests overlap.

Atreides brings a professional psychological-operations background to this problem — applied defensively. The discipline that makes influence operations effective is the same discipline required to detect them, attribute their patterns and blunt them.

Information Environment & Cognitive Threat Analysis

  • Mapping of the information environment around a client, sector or region
  • Identification of the actors, channels and incentives shaping it
  • Cognitive-threat analysis: which audiences are being targeted and through what mechanism
  • Baseline assessment against which anomalous activity becomes visible

Hostile Influence & FIMI Monitoring

Monitoring for foreign information manipulation and interference, and for hostile influence activity directed at clients.

  • Detection of coordinated inauthentic activity
  • Attribution-relevant pattern analysis: timing, propagation, network structure
  • Identification of proxies, amplifiers and intermediaries
  • Early warning of campaigns in formation

Narrative & Campaign Analysis

  • Hostile narrative detection and tracking over time
  • Analysis of coordinated influence campaigns and their objectives
  • Assessment of narrative reach, penetration and durability
  • Distinguishing organic criticism from orchestrated activity — a distinction clients frequently get wrong in both directions

Counter-Disinformation

  • Evidence-based assessment of false or manipulated claims
  • Verification and provenance analysis of contested material
  • Advisory on correction, rebuttal and — often the correct answer — silence
  • Resilience measures that reduce susceptibility before a campaign begins

Influence & Deception Risk Assessment

  • Assessment of a client’s exposure to influence and deception operations
  • Identification of susceptible decision points, dependencies and personnel
  • Counter-deception advisory: how to structure decisions so manipulation fails
  • Pre-transaction and pre-negotiation assessment where deception risk is material

Strategic Communication Support

  • Advisory on communication in contested and adversarial environments
  • Message assessment against hostile exploitation
  • Crisis communication support alongside the client’s own advisers

Hybrid Threats & Special Projects

  • Hybrid-threat analysis across information, economic, infrastructure and security domains
  • Below-threshold hostile activity affecting operations or critical dependencies
  • Infrastructure and economic security assessment
  • Bespoke strategic research and lawful special-project support for specific client problems

Scope and Boundaries

This is a defensive, analytical and advisory practice.

Atreides does not produce or disseminate disinformation, conduct covert influence operations, offer media manipulation services, or undertake unlawful covert activity of any kind. It does not accept work whose purpose is to deceive the public, manipulate an election or damage a third party through fabricated content.

Where activity is detected that is properly a matter for national authorities, Atreides advises clients to refer it and supports them in doing so.
